what's the plan
Meet and greet at the Central Market Hall and start with a yummy welcome treat. Take in the market's lively atmosphere, splendid architecture and rich aromas. Let the fresh products dazzle you before heading to the next location and grabbing a bite of a typical Hungarian sausage. Enjoy it like the locals do and add some pickled vegetables on the side.
Head to Pest's livery Jewish Quarter and make your way to the most unpretentious and homey Hungarian restaurant in town. Savour the traditional goulash soup or bean soup with incredibly tasty flavour. I'll tell you all about the history behind the nation's favourite dish.
Continue to the city's first street food court and walk through a hip and colourful community garden. Enjoy the cool vibe while checking out different food stalls. I show you how we like to drink wine. Just pick your favourite glass of "fröccs" and enjoy it with a piece of Budapest's favourite street food: fried bread with cottage cheese.
Make your way to the pioneer of all ruin pubs and get ready for a sweet treat. Pick up a freshly made chimney cake, grab a coffee and make your way to a lovely wine bar.
I can't wait to share my favourite local food with you. Remember, this private tour can be 100% personalized to your taste, just get in touch.

about your host
I'm a foodie. I write a food and travel blog. I love eating out, but also cooking. I travel a lot and enjoy trying out new things and taste new flavours.
I was born and raised in Hungary, but then lived, studied and worked over half of my life abroad, in 7 different countries on 3 continents. I came back to Hungary last year, to rediscover my Motherland and I'm loving it. It's a beautiful small country with four seasons, a turbulent history, wonderful culture, great architecture and a delicious cuisine. It's worth to visit and explore! I'm always happy when I cam share my knowledge, my experience and my discoveries with the visitors.
